Fairfax County Public Schools, divided into five regions, provides quality education to students in grades K-12 throughout Fairfax County.

Within the county, there are 196 schools responsible for educating 185,000 students, making it the 10th largest school system in the nation. More than 1,500 buses are transporting Fairfax County students to and from school.

There are approximately 141 elementary schools, 23 middle schools, three secondary schools, and 22 high schools.
