Alexandria, July 4: Mount Vernon, An American Celebration

Celebrate the 4th at the home of our first President, George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Meet General Washington and watch made-for-daytime fireworks. Visitors can also watch a moving Naturalization ceremony and enjoy music and other entertainment. All activities are included with regular admission. 9:00 – 5:00. Alexandria, July 9: USA Birthday Celebration in Old Town Alexandria

Celebrate America’s 246th birthday and Alexandria’s 273rd in beautiful and historic Alexandria. Enjoy a performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra and a dazzling firework display plus cupcakes, vendors, and more. Free admission from 6:00 – 9:45 PM.

Bluemont, July 4: Independence Day at Dirt Farm Brewing

Watch town fireworks around the valley and celebrate the 4th of July at Dirt Farm Brewing while sipping craft beer. There will be a pig roast and other food options. Make it a day trip with a hike to Bears Den Overlook and other fun in Bluemont. Advanced tickets are required. $12 – $26; 6:00 – 10:00 PM. Brambleton Town Center, July 2: BRAM—What a Blast!

Come join us on Saturday, 2 July for the Brambleton BRAM at the Evergreen Mills Road Event Field. Residents and their friends get a jump on the 4th with live music, games, food trucks, beer/wine, and one of the best fireworks displays in the area. Enjoy live music by “Six Pack Rodeo” and “Under the Covers” from 6:00-10:00 PM. Admission is $5 for residents and $10 for non-resident. Ages three and under are free. Fairfax, July 4-5: Annual Independence Day Parade and Fireworks

The fun begins on July 4th at 10:00 am with a parade beginning at 4100 Chain Bridge Road and through downtown Fairfax featuring bands, entertainers, large inflatable parade balloons, floats, and clowns.

On July 5th, the action moves to Fairfax High School front parking lot for live entertainment beginning at 6:30 PM and a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 PM. There will be no on-site parking for the public, and a limited number of accessible parking spaces. Recommend using the shuttle service if you are planning to drive to the event. There will be fully accessible shuttle buses running between Fairfax High School and Woodson High School throughout the evening. Free admission.

Great Falls, July 4: Hometown Celebration and Fireworks

Join us as we celebrate the 4th of July throughout the day! Morning festivities kick off with the Little Patriots Parade, followed by the Main Parade around the Village Centre. After the parade, head to the Village Green with your kids for food and fun! In the evening, we will see you at Turner Farm for the main event. Herndon, July 4: Town of Herndon Celebrations at Bready Park

The Town of Herndon will launch July 4th fireworks from the Herndon Centennial Golf Course. Head to Bready Park at the Herndon Community Center to see the show. Live entertainment, games, food, and fun are back in 2022! Activities begin at 6:30 PM with live music by “Hipshack” at 7:15 PM. The fireworks start at approximately 9:30 PM. Leesburg, July 4: Leesburg’s Independence Day Celebration

Start the holiday by showing your patriotic spirit at the annual Independence Day Parade, held through Historic Downtown Leesburg beginning at 10:00 AM. The parade will start at Ida Lee Park, travel down King Street, and conclude at Fairfax Street. Put on your patriotic best and join your friends and neighbors to celebrate the birthday of the United States! Back this year is the American Originals Fife and Drum Corps, sponsored by Toth Financial. This traditional corps adds a patriotic sound to the parade and is a favorite among parade viewers. The group will be marching the entire parade route from Ida Lee Park to Fairfax Street.

Celebrate America’s big day at Ida Lee Park and enjoy a great night of music, food, fireworks, and fun! This year’s band is Kevin Mac & The Homies. Gates open at 6:00 PM and music starts at 6:30 PM, so be sure to arrive early and grab a spot for a full night of celebration. A full food court will be onsite with funnel cakes, ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, and so much more. The biggest bang of the evening begins at 9:30 PM when the largest fireworks show in the region will light up the sky. Choreographed to patriotic music, this light show is not to be missed.

Parking is available at the interior lots off Ida Lee Drive, and the Festival Field parking off King Street in the event of a cancellation due to weather, fireworks will be rescheduled for July 5th at 9:30 pm.

Lovettsville, July 3: Independence Day Celebration

Start your patriotic celebrations with an evening of family-friendly fun. A hometown parade kicks off at 5:30 PM followed by a pool party at 6:30 PM. Impressive fireworks to top off the evening beginning at 9:15 PM. Admission is free.

The parade route will begin at the equestrian parking lot in the Lovettsville Community Park and run through town, ending at Lovettsville Elementary School. The pool party bash will have games and music for all with a cost of $4 per person, ages two and up. Fireworks will be launches from a field near the dog park around 9:15 PM. Lorton, July 2: Workhouse Arts Center Annual Fireworks

Enjoy pre-July 4th fireworks at the historic Workhouse Arts Center on 2 July, which features a special on-stage performance with Mark G. Meadows and “A Night of Wonder”. The family-friendly celebration features a stunning display of fireworks plus live entertainment from 6:00 – 10:00 PM. Tickets start at $20 with other VIP options available. Manassas, July 4: Celebrate America!

The celebration surrounds the Historic Downtown train depot, the Harris Pavilion, and the Manassas Museum. There will be great rides for the kids starting at 3:00 PM. There will be face painting, a caricature artist, food concessions and novelty vendors beginning at 4:00 PM. Come participate in the Watermelon Eating contest, Bike Decorating contest and Pie Baking contest.

McLean, July 2: 4th of July Celebration in McLean

Middleburg, July 4: Middleburg’s Independence Day Celebration

Who is ready for Middleburg’s July 4th Independence Day Celebration? Enjoy live music, great food and drinks, pool, a Children’s Parade at 5:30 PM, fireworks and more! South Riding, July 1: Star Spangled 4th

The events kick off with the Star-Spangled Parade! Dress up your bike, wagon, stroller, or car with Fourth of July inspired frills and join the parade with star spangled pride! You may walk individually or as a group. Led by jazz group Blue Styles Brass Band the parade will leave from Town Hall (43055 Center Street) promptly at 5:30.

Bring a blanket or chair and pick out your area. From 6:30 PM to 9:15 PM enjoy music by the rockin’ band “Up All Night.”  Treat yourself from one of our AMAZING food vendors, featuring:  Southern Fish Fry, Uncle Fred’s BBQ, Vocelli’s Pizza, Flying Moos, Hawaii’s Best Shaved Ice, Fosters Grille, Kona Ice and Rai’s Pizzeria. The Plains, July 4: Great Meadows Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate American Independence with an evening of family & friends, music, food, and fun! For the 33rd year, Great Meadow hosts Northern Virginia’s best fireworks show from its internationally acclaimed steeplechase course. Watch the entire course and property light up in magnificent patriotic colors! Vienna, July 1: Vienna Fireworks Celebration

Despite staffing shortages, the Town of Vienna Independence Day Celebration is rescheduled to Friday, July 1 at Yeonas Park. The U.S. Navy Concert Band will perform beginning at 8 PM., and a 20-minute fireworks display will begin at 9:30 PM. Those who plan to attend the celebration are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. The Vienna Little League concession stand will be open offering food and beverages for sale, or residents may bring their own snacks. No alcohol, glass containers, sparklers/fireworks or dogs are permitted. Lawn chairs are not permitted on the baseball fields but may be used anywhere else in the park.

For safety reasons, the fireworks display will be launched from nearby Southside Park and will be visible from Yeonas Park. For more information about the festivities and nearby street closures, visit www.viennava.gov/fireworks.

Washington, D.C., July 4: Independence Day from the National Mall

Make your way into Washington D.C. for a day of fun-filled festivities. The National Park Service hosts spectacular Independence Day fireworks show in the heart of the nation’s capital. View a colorful 35-minute firework display with DC’s iconic monuments and memorials as a stage. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:07 (weather permitting) over the National Mall. The fireworks display may be delayed or cancelled if there is inclement weather, such as driving rain, high winds, lightning and/or low ceiling cloud cover in the area.

          Some of the special events taking place on the 4th include, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, National Independence Day Parade, A Capital Fourth Concert.
